Matt 16 - How many times have I asked for or maybe demanded a sign from God? I do not like it, but in those cases I am just like the Pharisees and Sadducees and that hurts, but does that stop me from doing it again? God Help me to not be like them...
Matt 17 - 20 [Jesus] He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” [21] [a] Faith that can move mountains... I want and need more Faith. Faith is a gift but what is it we can do to "exercise" it. Lord help me to exercise Faith and to live by the Spirit.

- got mad when his disciples kept worrying (about food) and had too little faith when they should have KNOWN that anything is possible because of all he'd already done
- got money to pay his bills out of a fish's mouth
- didn't want people to talk about who he was or what miracles he'd done (i've often wondered about this. it seems odd, since we are commanded to go and spread the good news. in today's reading i realized they were told not to talk about (the transfiguration) until AFTER jesus rose from the dead. so perhaps this was part of the spiritual warfare going on and jesus helping to ensure that he was crucified according to God's plan... ? just pondering these things)
other things that stood out: FAITH! God how can my faith grow? how can i please you with my faith? how can i combat the fear when it comes? how can i truly believe what i say i believe? help me!
